Senior Leadership Team

Debra has earned a reputation for her vision, passion and dedication as a leader in the business community. She is currently Chair of alumni UBC, and a board member of Providence Health Care, Drug Free Kids Canada, the UBC Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Debra is also a former Industry Director and Chair of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund.

Debra is a strong supporter of Odlum Brown’s sponsorship and charitable giving programs. In 2021, she was honoured with the Order of British Columbia for her community leadership, and in 2016 received the Joseph and Rosalie Segal United Way Community Vision Award. Debra was also recognized as a 2017 Canada’s Most Admired^TM CEO and received a 2016 BC CEO Award from Business in Vancouver. In 2015, she received an Influential Women in Business Award. In 2012, Debra was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the BC Community Achievement Award, and was also inducted into the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Hall of Fame after being recognized as one of the Top 100 for three consecutive years.

Team. Mr. Pacholko is also active in several industry associations. At present, he is a member of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC)’s Conduct, Compliance and Legal Advisory Section (CCLS) and the Financial Operations and Administrators Section (FOAS). As a member of the FOAS, he participates in the Operations Subcommittee. Mr. Pacholko is a Certified General Accountant (CGA).

He is passionate about investing and is known for his ability to share investment ideas in a clear and engaging manner. Murray is regularly quoted in the local and national press and interviewed by the television media.

Murray is a strong supporter of Odlum Brown’s charitable giving programs and is an active fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation. He is also a mentor and counsellor for students in UBC’s Portfolio Management Foundation. He serves as Chair of Simon Fraser University’s Investment Advisory Committee and is on the Board of Cloverdale Paint.

Previously, Murray served on the board of the BC Cancer Foundation and chaired their Investment Committee for two consecutive three-year terms. He also served as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Vancouver School of Theology.

Murray has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance Major with Honours) from UBC and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

With 15 years of compliance experience in the financial services industry, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to his role. He works diligently to ensure that Odlum Brown meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements. Mark is options and options supervision approved and earned his CFP^® designation in 2008. Mark is a member of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) Compliance Committee and also serves on the Pacific District Council of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).

Dan is also a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

As Vice President, Director, Enterprise Risk Management, Dan is responsible for overseeing the firm’s internal controls and corporate risk management.

Dan is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified General Accountant (CPA, CGA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.

Kim is a member of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) Private Client Committee and a member of the York House Advancement Committee and the York House Foundation Investment Committee. She currently is a Director of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club (WMSC) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the York House School Foundation. She was a past member of the Vancouver Foundation Development Committee.

In her spare time, Kim can be found volunteering on the side of a ski hill with the Whistler Mountain Ski Club (WMSC).

As a member of the Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team, Barbara is responsible for guiding the overall talent and engagement strategies at Odlum Brown in order to optimize the employee experience and support sustained business performance. She views leadership as a critical business investment and is passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to being authentic and accountable leaders.  

Barbara holds the Fellow Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation and serves as a board member for the YWCA of Metro Vancouver, chairing the Human Resources and Compensation Committee.

Deena is also a member of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) Communications Committee.

Her passion for hockey, athletics and philanthropy inspired her involvement with the Scotiabank Hockey for Alzheimer’s Pro-Am, as part of the Steering Committee (2014-2015) and Recruitment Committee Chair (2015).

Previously, Sam was at Canaccord Genuity Corp. for over 16 years where he served as Vice President of Enterprise Development until 2016. Before that, Sam was at Dataphile Software Ltd. from 1996 to 2000.

Mike joined Odlum Brown Financial Services Limited in 2008 after working at one of Canada’s largest accounting firms. He enjoys providing advisors and their clients with up-to-date tax and personal finance information and helping clients to identify risks and opportunities in pursuit of their financial, retirement and estate goals.

Mike holds the following designations: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified General Accountant (CGA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (Honours) from Queen’s University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
