Approach

With a focus on building long-term client relationships based on mutual trust and respect, Kyle understands that no two clients are alike. In guiding clients through the financial discovery process, in-depth discussions uncover and prioritize their goals and lifestyle desires. Consistent with Odlum Brown’s guiding principles, Kyle has his clients’ best interests front and center with respect to his advice and recommendations.

An exclusive benefit of being an Odlum Brown client is the access to Odlum Brown Financial Services Limited (OBFSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Odlum Brown Limited. OBFSL consists of a team of experts in the areas of financial, retirement and estate planning as well as life insurance products. Kyle works alongside the OBFSL team, in addition to your existing tax and legal professionals, to ensure that all aspects of your family’s finances are addressed.

Investment Style

Kyle is a proponent of Odlum Brown’s value investing philosophy. Seeking high-quality securities at reasonable prices sets the stage for a consistent investing experience. Kyle works with his clients to focus on a long-term plan and presents them with a disciplined approach to organizing their day-to-day finances.

Odlum Brown's principal advantage within the industry is its independence. By not acting as underwriters, the firm is committed to providing value-based recommendations with a focus on the individual investor. It is this independence that allows us to make unbiased investment recommendations to our clients.

Background

Prior to joining Odlum Brown, Kyle spent nine years working for a major global financial institution. During that time, Kyle developed a strong understanding of investing, budgeting and debt management. Working with professionals and business owners, he gained a keen sense of the types of challenges faced by high net worth clients.

Kyle has obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Distinction) from the University of Alberta in addition to completing the Canadian Securities Course. He has also earned the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation through the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB), now known as the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).

Kyle and his wife Katy recently moved to Kelowna and spend their free time keeping as active as possible. Winters are spent at the local curling rink, playing indoor soccer and up at the ski hill. In the summer, Kyle enjoys spending time on the golf course, hiking or exploring one of the local wineries.
